Adam and Jackie make a very handsome couple. They look so young and carefree. It's a wonderful picture Jane

ok we made it back home!

Got home around 2:30 this morning. We had a good time, but short. We were very proud to watch him graduate, he looks very good in his military uniform...I have never seen him wear his pants up so high around his waist. I guess I won't need to tell him to get the pants up over his ass anymore. Adam and Jackie are very much "in love" and it looks like we will be having a backyard wedding ...around the end of july....I will need help! Adam is hoping his first duty station will be in VA, but he won't know till the end of his A School. There were lots of people at the graduation, they came from all over with lots of kids...and babies. They all marched in ..there was about 250 soldiers graduating...after the ceremony the soldiers had to march over to the gymnasium where the families could meet the drill sargents and company commanders. There were also quite a few soldiers that didn't qualify to graduate...I felt sorry for one that was by us that was standing under a tree and looked like he had been crying. I think Adam will do well in the army. Well I better get going....my plants need watering. take care.....luv jane

Adam and Jackie

Hey Jane--and everyone else.

I got the picture of Adam at graduation and figured out how to get it onto the blog all by myself.
Boy, do i feel proud of myself..

17 HOURS - HOLY SMOKESSSSSSSS! You must be exhausted! Did Jane help with the driving or did Mark do it all? Hope you found a decent cup of coffee - but no one makes it like you - yuck - lol.

Hope your weather is good - storms to the north and west of you. We're having a gorgeous day - mid seventies and blue, blue skies.

Hope you have a good visit with Adam and a safe trip home.

Mom

hey everybody

We made it here last night around 10pm, it did take about 17 hrs to get here and 1050 miles. We had a very smooth trip everything went well except the cost of gas...4.19 a gallon. We are going to leave here this morning about 8 am - graduation is at 9 am. Most of the people here at the hotel are here for the graduation- met some people from RI and from MI.
Ok I gotta get ready and find a decient cup of coffee....I forgot to bring some ugh......
I will try and blog later.

Good Morning Everyone!

No news from Jane & Mark so I assume they made it safely to Missouri and are sound asleep now. Hope they find Adam safe and well. I talked to Bobby yesterday - he said Shannon had calmed down somewhat, but he must stop telling us all what a good mother she is - a good mother puts the needs of the child above all else.

Yesterday was a real lazy day - cold and cloudy and then clearing late in day. I accomplished nothing much. Have been trying to teach Fritz some new things = like smiling - lol. I grin at him, baring all my teeth, and am beginning to see the corners of his mouth lift up a bit. From the start he has wagged his tail at me. I know, I know, silly old woman here, but it makes me laugh. Penny, Jack, and now Sandi have always smiled, but Fritz's snout is so long I think it's difficult for him.

Will check in often today hoping to see message from Jane.

Hey Jane, Mark, and Jackie - Imagine you are sailing along perhaps near Ohio by now. I will break out the big atlas and follow your route to Missouri. Please give Adam our best and hearty congratulations. Even old Grump-Grump said he's be praying for him.

It's cold and rainy here so no gardening today - this morning anyway. The roses are about to burst into full bloom, rather late this year - have always had them full out for Mother's Day. Lot's of things are doing better this year than ever before, due to all the rain we've had, I think.

You'll be happ6y to know that due to the rain I am doing some housecleaning (not much). Got kitchen mopped and then did the bathroom. Now I am just procastinating. I should be attacking the bills for June 1st and filing all the other stuff. We have taxes due June 15th - yuck! I heard what all Gov. Kaine is proposing and it just sounds like a big increase in state taxes to me.

Haven't called Bobby yet - will try at about 2 or 2:30 - after the lunch rush.

I was almost up to 2,000 at Literati but am now on a big losing streak. Oh, well, it's just a game.

Good luck to Catherine and Eric with the new little puppy. I'll bet he's irrestible. Post some pictures Catherine!

hugs to all

we on the road

We are on our way, currently on I95 nearing Fredtown and it's 6:02 am. We picked up Jackie at 4 am and briefly met her mother (I talked to her last night on the phone) Jackie's family is from the Philly area- I could tell with her mom's accent. We have 943 miles to go to the hotel- Knigh hts Inn in Saint Robert MO.

Hey mom give Bobby a call at the restaurant so he can tell you how mad Shannon is - she got copy of the court orders in the mail yesterday. He said he is not gonna be calling much cause Sal got the phone bill for last month and it was pretty high.

ok I am gonna say by for now- the bumps move the curser to a different place and messes up what I already typed.

Hello from VB

Well, i guess i'll be good and blog- i hate to blog, but love to read the blogs..Ellen's included.

The boys are at the pool. This is the first year both boys can go w/out me there. And, yes MOM there is a certified lifeguard on duty-who is mean --Jamie told me this. And, the pool's deepest end is 6ft. I haven't been able to find my best looking swimsuit since last summer. I've got a clue where it might be -so i guess a trip to the store is in order. I'm going to find the same suit if it kills me.

I was going to go into to work today--but for the umpteenth time i've changed my mind at the last minute...i just can't make myself do it. Then tomorrow i'll feel guilty for not going in because i have so much crap to do. Why do people wreck? And, why do they feel like they hit the LOTTO? Probably about 25% are legit clms -- and i feel bad for them b/c my policyholder wasn't paying attention. The rest-- well there's a accident, but they probably aren't hurting as bad as they claim!! So, i'll be up at the crack of dawn and off to work. This has been good for Jamie because it's testing him for next year when he has to rough it in the am w/out me or Joey to move him a long. I make sure he get's he stuff ready the night before. And, that he has a cellphone and he's up in the am before i leave, or Joey leaves. Then he has ample time to get dress, take care of the dog and have a good breakfast.

The weather has been wonderful the last few days- summer would be heaven if it was like this all the time. Not to hot, not to cold. Soon it will be hell on this part of the earth.

We went to see the new INDY movie. Somehow Harrison Ford looks younger than he really his. I guess this is going to be his last movie...i'll miss him and his lopsided grin - it turns me on!!

Mom--fyi -i've been watching my blood sugar. I've noticed one thing that does seem to affect me worse then others and that is my favorite -- a baked potato. The only think i put on it is butter. And i notice if it eat one ( a small one at that) it's higher into the next day. Last night no potato...hamburgers (no vegie) and a very small helping of mac/cheese...my bs was very good when i got up. So, tonight i am going to see if it hold true again tonight w/a small pork roast, rice w/veggies...

Ok, i'm off - going to take my fearless dog for a walk to the pool.

Since today is memorial day -- i will take time out to say a prayer for all those who are serving and protecting us -along w/all the fallen heroes. May God rest their souls and protect those who are willing to serves us. And, a special prayer for Adam --if he goes to Iraq that God really pays attention to him and keeps him safe.

hi

I've not been blogging much. Not doing much either. I had my root canal finished and still have more dental work to be done, so that kept me down. I got some kind of a bug (not a millipede) and was feeling crappy all weekend. Today, a bonus weekend day, I'll have to do all the things I planned to do earlier.

I actually slept past ten both yesterday and today - which is great. I'm probably catching up from the horrible insomnia. Insomnia really sucks bad. My anxiety is also lessening slightly, but I expect will ratchet up this week at school.

Thursday is the dreaded SOL test for my students and my subject. 50 questions that will determine if I am a good teacher or not. I hate being judged on that test. But our whole school must meet the arbitrary standard this year set forth by NCLB or face consequences....dum dum dummmmmm.

Of course there is a lot going on to blog about that I do on my other blog: www.ellenville-ellenac6.blogspot.com - -come on over.

Bugs were eating my hyacinth beans, too. They attacked the cosmos as well. I moved everything to a different location, and transplanted what was big enough. The hyacinth beans are getting new leaves now so I think most of them will make it. The cosmos look fine - think I caught them in time.

Well Christian is coming to the right place if he likes bugs. This morning I noticed a HUGE beetle of some kind and yesterday I saw something that might be a millipede - what color are they? Before I could do anything about it, Sandi snatched it up.

I am reading Mountain Madness now about Scott Fischer, his adventure company called Mountain Madness, and his tragic end atop Mt. Everest in 1996. It was recommended by Aunt Joanne - very good friend of Scott's parents. I had met the mother a few times at Aunt Joanne's as well.

Last night we watched Charlie Wilson's War - I should say, slept thru it. I don't remember ever seeing a bad Tom Hanks movie before, but this was a clunker. Real housewives of NYC will have another episode on the 27th - goody. I liked to so much I order from Netflix the Orange county one.

I really took it easy today - had to grocery shop this morning and then goofed around in the garden followed by some reading and a long nap. Now it is almost dinner time, no preparations made, you know who will be complaining.

More later.

hey looks like i'm not the only one not blogging much

Hey mom I have lots of room still, sun, shade, and part sun! So save what you can.
The bug Jamie and Joey had seemed to only last 24 hrs and Nancy and I didn't get it! Nancy and I started working on cleaning out her closet, I think 80% is good will or trash. She will have a lot more room when we are done. Hey Nancy the SHAMPOOER CAME IT! So that will be next.
And Mom my hyacinth bean...something is eating the leaves too....it was looking really good until yesterday, I don't know if it will survive, can I put bug killer on it?

Ellen I want to bring the wicker furniture up, maybe after Adams graduation...the diesel will be over $5 a gallon, it's almost there now. I think I can get up and back on one tank.

Eric and Catherine came over last night we had a nice visit....they are getting a chocolate lab today and are very excited about getting the puppy,Eric wants to get a male and does not want to get him neutered....I would get a female and get her spaded......

Jackie doesn't have the blogg info yet...and she will not be driving.....just me and Mark, Jackies birthday is June 9th and she will be turning 18, so she has been driving less than 2 yrs. Nancy has generously agreed to let us use her sports trak for the trip, the price of gas is already 37 cents higher then when I calculated how much it would cost a few weeks ago....when will it stop! I only go to the dump and walmart and Nancy's.
today Nancy is treating us to the new Indiana Jones movie! We are going to the 2:30 pm show.

Mom I think Jaida and Christian will love digging in the dirt, we will hose them off when they are finished, Christian also likes looking at bugs! I would like him to see the Giant Millipede we saw the last time when we went for a hike with dad....not me.
Ok well Mark is up now...I will say good bye for now everyone have a great 3 day weekend!

Gosh Jane - your trip to Missouri sounds hard - drink lots of coffee - keep the driver awake - don't let Jackie drive!!!!! Where will Adam go after this?

Yes, I knew Jefferson was broke, and that he gave his books to Congress - but I always thought he GAVE them. He made a tidy little profit there, but not enough to lift him out of debt. Shortly before he died he held a lottery for Monticello, winner to take possession after the death of Martha, but it didn't work.

And I wish you lived closer, too, as i have tons of plants I'm just yanking out. Do you have a place for morning glories?, Brazilian verbena?, cosmos?, well, you get the idea. I will just keep potting them up until I run out of pots - lol. The poor peonies this year didn't have much of a chance with all the wind we've have. Cut the blooms off this morning.

I am wondering how Joey and Jamie are today and if Jamie was able to go to school. No doubt Nancy will get the "bug" now too.

I will look forward to your visit with the babies. Start saving bones - pork chops, chicken, etc., wash them, bring them here when you come and we'll bury them, then the little ones can have an archeological (sp.?) dig. Great fun for them. They can paint some rocks and we'll try to fix up a little sand box. Bring OLD clothes.

Back to the garden now - need to stake up the tomato plants today.

good morning!

Hey mom...you didn't know Thomas Jefferson was broke? and he sold his books...they told us that when we were at Monticello. I was over at Nancy's most of the day yesterday. Jamie came home sick, Nancy says Joey has it today...vomiting. Hey mom didn't you have illness after we left last sunday? We received Adams graduation itenery, we will leave here on the 28th and return on the 30th, total of 2080 miles. Jackie will be going with us. I planted all my plants that mom gave me...wish I was closer cause I need more! I don't know how the snake knew about the birds and eggs, but I think that it is intinctive for them to look in those kind of places ...also going up in the trees looking for bird nests.

I will go over to Nancy's later to check on the boys, make them some soup.
Big News....Zsuzsi got her social security card yesterday!!!!!! She is busy online filling out applications. She is planning to go to Hungary in July and Michael will be going in September, and then they will return together...Michael was hoping to have a layover in Amsterdam...but I don't think he will have anytime to do any site seeing.

Mom tell dad I told Mark about dad needing his help...Catherine...we need Eric too, so lets plan a trip. I hope to have Jaida for about 2 weeks this summer, in July or August and I will bring Jaida and Christian to your house for a few days. I won't bring them the weekend the boys cut down trees though.

ok everyone have a TERRIFIC DAY!!
luv ya

P.S.

Forgot to mention that my favorite senator, Jim Webb will be on Meet the Press this morning. Also several appearances this week, including David Lettermen Monday night and Keith Olbermann (be still my heart) Tuesday night. I know he has a new book coming out, but will he also be announcing which candidate he is endorsing?
Yesterday I planted sixteen tomato plants! Dad had made me some raised beds for them, bought sacks of topsoil to fill them, along with compost/manure, and lime. I do love vine-ripened tomatoes, but when I consider the money spent I realize for much less we could keep ourselves supplied with tomatoes from the farmer's market all summer long. Of course, in years to come, it will cost a lot less to grow our little crop. I always thought working in raised beds would be easier on my back, it didn't prove to be so. By the time I worked all the good stuff into the soil and planted I could hardly straighten up and stagger back to the house. Did I mention that I had to make little collars - sixteen of them - to protect from cutworms? Not to mention buckets of water and miracle grow!

I have been pondering this question all week and if anyone can give me the answer I would appreciate it: How did that black snake know there were baby birds/eggs in the dovecoat? After all, that dovecoat sits atop a 5 1/2 foot pole. It's not like he had a nearby perch to spy from or catch the scent from. I don't know if he got them or not - we have had birds in the dovecoat for years, but they are very quiet and the only time I am aware of them is when I am digging around that pole. So far, there are no signs of life.

Something else I wanted opinions on: are there newcasters/media personalities that you just can't stand? Tom Brokaw for one is highly overated in my opinion. If you listen carefully you realize that he had said practically nothing, while positioning himself as "the great pontificator." Walter Cronkite he ain't. I used to like Lou Dobbs, but I've come to realize he's somewhat of a broken record/crackpot and I haven't watched/listened to him in months. Joe Scarbrough is another one - that man can state the obvious over and over again in about 10,000 words or more - likes to hear himself talk. Besides he is so horribly rude to Mika B. that I really think he needs a good slap. I have never liked Katie Couric and so never watch her newscasts. Newscasts??? haha, our news shows are no longer news but entertainment. Oh yes, another one - Tucker Carlson - while he is kind of cute, he's terribly self-righteous. I cannot comment on Fox (faux) News - never view it.

I will talk about guilty pleasures in my next post - lol - but just let me say that I LOVED "Real Housewives of New York."

Happy Sunday - keep on truckin!

Hi - too busy to blog - darn grades - but enjoy this:

Hi Catherine - good to see you here posting. How's your Dad doing? I think of him frequently. And, good going with the college work! Sounds like Dean's List to me.

Your job reminds me of one I had years ago - for a temp agency. They gave me nothing to do, just answer the phone, which never rang. I felt very guilty sitting there, but finally brought a book with me and spent my time reading. Nobody minded.

We had a great Mother's Day weekend. Cruised through Green Front looking for a chair for Dad - all ugly and over-priced. From there we went to the nursery and I had a blast - THANK YOU girls! Dinner followed at Ruby Tuesday's - not the greatest. Sunday found me planting - got the hanging baskets done - very pretty. Jane was hustling around the kitchen, and Nancy relaxing on sofa. After dinner they all headed home - they left early to beat the rain storm, but got wet anyway.

I have been in the garden much of the time and have everything planted now, except for one Virginia spiderwort. Will do that today, along with transplanting some stuff. Wish you girls lived nearby as I have lots of volunteers I could give you.

I finished reading Twilight at Monticello" which I thought was pretty good. I have a soft spot for that author - Allan Pell Crawford - as I met him at a book signing for Unwise Passions and we had a lovely conversation about the research he did here locally. Anyhow, his latest, about Thomas Jefferson's final years I found interesting - dry and uneven in spots, yet enough gossipy tidbits to hold my interest. After I finished the book I read the reviews of it on Amazon.com and was totally shocked at how bad they were. I will loan this book to my History teacher - that's you Ellen - and get her opinion. I had no idea that Jefferson was so heavily in debt and found some of the details of his family life shocking. I know that when the Capitol burned destroying all it's books with it, Jefferson offered his as a replacement. What I didn't know was that he sold his books, and made quite a handsome profit.

Little Fritz had his annual checkup yesterday and he was very uncooperative. In fact, he even had to be muzzled. Poor little guy was terrified. He left his "calling card" on the exam table, the floor, the vet, the vet tech, and Dad! LOL. It's so sad to see him "waltz" into the vet's, tail wagging happily, only to be terrorized by all the stuff done to him. He is now 13 pounds - 2 pound overweight - so he is on a little diet. I am supposed to brush his teeth daily - milk bones do NOT do the trick - so will attempt the first brushing today.

Love and kisses to all
Mom - now reading the latest Elizabeth George - "Careless in Red."

My boss' wife is having surgery and she asked me if I would fill in for her to help her keep up with the work. She works for Norfolk Maritime Surveyors. So today is my first day. I had to type up one report for the bossman and I've been sitting here now for about 3 hours doing absolutely nothing. I feel bad but honestly there isn't anything to do. The rest of the time I'm here, probably about 2-2 1/2 weeks I'll work in the morning and then go back to my real job in the afternoons. The bad thing is is that I can't sub during these weeks and so there will only be a few weeks left when I'm able to again. But it's ok I guess.

Well, my mom told me that I needed to get an address book so I could have the family's addresses to send birthday cards and what-not so I'd like to add everyone, including you all :) My email address is cgreen8017@email.vccs.edu or girl0430@gmail.com that way you aren't putting your address on the internet and some crazy person comes to track you down.

So I've been done with school now for a little over a week and I cannot tell you how great it feels! I got 4 b's and 1 a. As long as everything goes how I plan and I can get into the classes I need, I'll graduate TCC in December :) Then it's off to ODU for a couple years. After that, I'll finally be able to teach full time. I can't wait for that to happen!

Nothing else is going on except we have to buy a new vaccuum cleaner which I really didn't want to have to do.

I hope everyone is doing well.

love,
catherine

well...

workmen are putting in a new sewer pipe, the have the whole front yard dug up...and the water is off.....cox cable now is out there so we don't have phone, tv, or internet, this really sucks!
and because the workmen are out there I don't want to
plant my new plants that mom gave me. I stopped raining finally and the sun is out, it's still freezing inside the house.

I had a wonderful time at mom and dads this weekend, and I got my first tick..on my lower back. I found it yesterday morning.....I was freaking out...Zsuzsi burned it with a match about 7 times, she finally got it out and I lit it up on the end of my tweezers and saved it in the ashtray for Mark to see.

Moms garden looks wonderful so many plants and flowers, mine will never look that good!
well I guess I will find something to eat...nothing else to do.

keep bloggin

It's not really raining here today - just enough of a drizzle to keep me inside. We went to Wal-Mart this morning to stock up for the weekend and of course, I had to go into the garden department! They are certainly all stocked up for Mother's Day but I headed straight for the hostas - gasp! - they are now $2!!!!!!! Bought 3 Golden Tiaras to replace the ones torn up by the voles. Also 3 nice little coleus - a buck each. Coleus are hard for me - I'm too fussy about the colors - my garden area is so dark that the light colors are the only ones that look good there.

Came home, put groceries away and called a friend and chatted for awhile. She had called me several times yesterday and being in such a rotten mood, when I saw it was her, I just didn't answer the phone. She is a perfectly nice person and we have lots of laughs together but I just wasn't in the mood yesterday.

I am now awaiting the UPS delivery of my B&N order. Tracking showed it would be delivered today and he is usually here by now. I have read 2 books this week waiting for this order - both less than 200 pages with large print.

tonight for dinner we are having some frozen Chinese stuff that Scott showed me last time he and Ellen were here. Looks good - hope it's good. If not, we'll just have to fill up on Oreo's double stuff and ice cream (just kidding).

I have been buying navel oranges for myself - I know they are expensive but I only eat one per day and I LOVE them. Well now your Dad has discovered how good they are and you know him - eats 3 or 4 at a time. No wonder he's always running to the bathroom.

HARK!!!!!!!!!!! I think I hear a truck and both dogs are barking. Bet you didn't know that such a little thing could make this old woman's heart pound with excitement - almost as good as an org - oh, never mind. Dad has just arrived in computer room with my 3 books from B&N so tata for now.
(I'm happy again)

Rainy Thursday

Well, it's raining today here, so perhaps in Farmville, too, Mom so you can maybe do housework today. Our last unfixed kitties get fixed today. Nearly $1,000 later.... They haven't been able to eat past midnight, so they are frantic. The new screened porch was a good idea for about 5 minutes. I'll capture a pic of them all attached like velcro at the same time to the upper part of the screen walls. Nice.

I should be in the shower as it is late, and I have to steam my clothes and stop for gas. But, I am lingering over coffee.

Kaiti is going to come home (for a visit) this weekend and stay for a week or so. We'll be going to Williamsburg next weekend and she will house/dog/cat sit for us.

I'm glad for the rain, don't have to water my new geraniums or tomatoes. My rose bushes are full of buds and some blooms. Peonies full of buds! No sign of my new cosmos that I planted yet. My daylillies are up -- but too early for buds. Everything looks so green and lush....only a few weeks until the oppressive heat kills all the outside fun.

Happy belated b-days to everyone!!
Let me tell you about my day yesterday...Dad was prescribed a new medication - terribly expensive and Ft. Lee does not carry it. Doctor's office recommended we use Tricare for Life mail-in RX's. Fine. Off I go to their website - well let me tell you .. 4 hours and several phone calls later I think I have Dad enrolled in their program and prescription mailed in. What frustration! Not only is the web site very difficult to navigate, they give no indication as to how to pay for the dang thing, and - if you can believe it - give the wrong address to mail it to. I only know that because I called up to verify that all the info I had was correct. This all left me in a stinko mood - think I even snapped at Nancy when she called. Was wishing I had a pound or two of chocolate on hand to soothe my nerves, but was too lazy to go buy some.

Anyhow, that shot down my day of housecleaning and I gave up the ghost to work in the garden. First I was scared out of my wits by a lizard scampering around - always on the lookout for copperheads, you know. Then I couldn't decide which to do first, mulch, weed, transplant - etc. Ended up doing a little of each - very little - until the UPS man arrived with my latest order - just some summer shirts from Land's End and NOT my Barnes and Noble order - Grrr! Ended up yaking over the gate with the UPS driver - have known him for years - as we swapped stories about government beaurocracies. Then into the house to whip up some ultra delicious dinner - yeah, right, sure. Nothing defrosted so had to resort to tuna salad sandwiches. That would have been okay, except that the celery was brown! Managed to salvage half a stalk. Then into the den to watch The Savages - from Netflix. I ordered it because Laura Linney - who I like - was nominated for the Oscar for this role - anyhow, it was a rather depressing movie - and dull enough to put me to sleep for the last half hour.

So - today is a new day (even if it began at 2 in the morning for me) and I will resume cleaning - send Dad to store to buy essentials - you know - milk, chocolate, bread, chocolate, and oh yes - and some fruit so we don't get backed up with all that chocolate.

Love to all
Mom

And today is Bobby's birthday! How well I remember you coming home from the hospital with Marianne - at first glance it looked like the carseat was empty, but she was so tiny, she was way down at the bottom. Remember how colicky she was? But in between cries she could always give a smile - lol. And I remember sitting in the coffee shop with Nancy and Michael when Bobby was born and the intercom calling for your doctor STAT! We were laughing when we heard that. And then Michael got a polaroid of Bobby from the delivery room and went around to eveyone he saw showing it off - "dis is my brudder!"

Now I'm going to tell you how much your father likes Kentucky Fried Chicken! Yesterday as we ate lunch I suggested KFC for dinner - immediately Dad said let's go - I protested that we'd just had lunch and that would be for dinner. He kept it up until I said we would go at 4:45. We didn't have enough cash so he even called KFC to see if they took credit cards. Anyhow, the chicken was good but what a rip-off! $13 Bucks for 4 pieces of chicken and a side of cole slaw!

I am reading Nine Parts of Desire by Geraldine Brooks about women of the middle east and her experiences there as a journalist. Very interesting. Am waiting for my B&N order - supposed to be shipped tomorrow and I should have it by Wednesday. I got the new Elizabeth George novel, Twilight at Monticello. and Mountain Madness about an ill-fated climb of Mt Everest. Now the big decision - which should I read first?!

Had a interesting and creepy experience in the garden yesterday - heard a big commotion from a couple of birds by my dovecote, so I stopped what I was doing to watch what I presumed would be a bird fight, when lo and behold, a huge (and I mean HUGE) black snake slithered out and down the pole! Since then Dad has placed some wire mesh around pole so snakes can't get up there again, but it might be too late for this little bird family. What I am wondering, how did the snake know that there were eggs in that nest? After all, the pole is at least 6 feet in the air - and snakes can't smell, can they?

I have not watched the John Adams show on HBO but I have it TIVOed. Will watch it one of these days. Tell Szuszi that we tried to watch Kontroll from Netflix. I ordered it because it won some awards, but we ended up not liking it. It was filmed entirely in the subway system of Budapest, in Hungarian of course. Kept it here for a while hoping Szuszi would be up for a visit, but finally sent it back.

Have a great day everyone (I have to clean house today because Mrs. Cleanjeans is coming for a visit)!

It's Marianne's 24th Birthday today!

I think I am going to make her a giant chocolate chip cookie and bring it over to her, wow the time has flown by, 24 years ago she was just a little over an hour old.

Yeah for the plants...I can't wait to get them planted in this yard! I will be there on may 10th..isn't that Aunt Nancy's birthday?

Nancy took my to see "Maid of Honor" it was an enjoyable movie, especially the scottish parts.

Did anyone watch the "John Adams" series on HBO? Zsuzsi found out a good portion was filmed in Hungary, and one of her friends was an extra... in the theatre seen in Paris ...it was really in Hungary and some of the castles were Hungarian too.

Mark had to be at work at 1am last night so he is still at work now, he should be home by early afternoon.

I saw Jamie's scratches by the rose bush he fell in, ..his back didn't look bad at all, and he has a big bandage on the back of his thigh, I could tell it was painful, cause he was asleep in the car and leaning so his thigh wasn't touching the seat. I hope no one pushed him into the rose bush, because he fell backwards... I am judging that by his wounds.

Zsuzsi is trying to go to Hungary sometime in July, she is still waiting for her social security card to come in the mail so she can get a job, she says she is going to get 2 jobs. Michael will me her in Hungary in Sept. for 9 days on his vacation.....I wish I could go too. I know her family misses her alot, and she has had 2 deaths ..her grandma and her aunt(fathers sister) who died very recently.

Well I am gonna get dressed and make the giant cookie.

Have a great sunday!

luv
